What to expect at Stones Pizza & Wine

Every Friday at 6pm our bakery in Falmouth transforms into the pizzeria of your dreams.
Tablecloths, so you know we're serious. Short stem wine glasses so you know we're not too serious.
Unsure how to navigate Stones Pizza & Wine? Well here's your handy-dandy guide.
Start with a cold glass of something. All of our wine comes from Constantine Stores. We always have one red and one white. At the moment our red is a rather special Primitivo from Puglia. Want to get extra fun? A negroni is always a good choice. Campari, Penny Drop Cornish gin and Punt e Mes vermouth with a strip of burnt orange peel. Opt for a Dalston Soda with lots of ice if you want to keep it soft.
Next up; the deep-fried doughballs are excellent. Tear them apart and stuff them with mortadella, stracciatella, friarielli or olive tapanade. Don't know what any of that is? Mortadella is a cured meat, stracciatella is a gorgeous, almost spreadable soft cheese, friarielli is leafy green preserved in olive oil and you know what olive tapanade is. If you'd prefer to save the dough based foods for your main course we also have cacio e pepe potatoes (deep fried potatoes topped with pecorino cheese and pepper.
Ready to really get in to it? It's pizza time. There are a few of options. We always do a classic marg. Perhaps a portobello mushroom, onion, ricotta and friarielli? Or a pepperoni and olive. We're flexible on mixing and matching toppings if that's your vibe. Our toppings are top notch, obviously. Fior di Latte mozzarella, San Marzano tomatoes, that kind of thing.
Last but never least, dessert. On the menu at the moment there's a baked cheesecake, a chocolate espresso cake or an ice cream sandwich. They are all very, very good. The ice cream sandwich is quite something. House made vanilla semi-freddo dashed through with crunchy pieces of almond brittle sandwiched between thin slices of brownie. It's wrapped in stripy foil and looks very pretty.
So there you have it, Stones Pizza & Wine in a nutshell. If all of that isn't worth dragging yourself off the sofa on a Friday night then I don't know what is. Life is for living and pizza is for eating, that's our motto. So come by on a Friday night, you'll almost certainly have a good time.
